It might sound like a Dropkick Murphys track, but alas, no, this is a remedy recipe from 1917. I found it with some newspaper clips tucked into an old book in my in-laws' Ontario farmhouse. Like many home remedies, its simple ingredient roster relies on items easily found in and around the home. Thankfully, I can think of a few more palatable (and less gastrically corrosive) things to pull from my pantry than glycerine and virgin pine oil! My favorite part of this recipe is the instruction to take as needed throughout the night. If you drink this, I don't think you will wake up too often.
